What are the Requirements for Becoming a Freight Broker?

Although many brokerages have differing job requirements, most are going to require that you have a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2-5 years of previous sales experience. Top brokers such as CH Robinson, Total Quality Logistics, XPO Logistics, Coyote, and Freightquote, are looking for candidates with a proven track record of sales success. Like any sales organization, showing confidence, and competitive spirit, and having an entrepreneurial attitude will help you stand out from other applicants.

Most of the larger firms mentioned above hire in groups of 10 to 30 new employees every month, knowing that there is a high turnover rate. This gives you relatively easy entry into the business, and time to learn about the industry as you grow your book of business.
